The module “Globalisation and International Economic Organisations” (6 ECTS) is part of the following Online Higher Education Programs taught by EENI Business School & HA Independent University:

Globalisation (Master, Doctorate, Online)

The student begins the Master / Doctorate in International Business (MIB), studying the subject Introduction to the Foreign Trade (1 ECTS)

The global scenario of the international business is then studied, for which the phenomenon of the Globalisation (2 ECTS), the trend towards the regionalisation, the role of the emerging markets (BRICS) and the effects of the international financial crisis are analysed.

Next, the main international organisations related to the global business are analysed (3 ECTS):

  1. United Nations
  2. World Bank (WB)
  3. World Trade Organisation (WTO)
  4. International Monetary Fund (IMF)
  5. Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)
  6. Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
  7. International Trade Centre (INTRACEN)
  8. International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)

Objectives of the module:

The objectives of the module “Globalisation and International Economic Organisations” are the following:

  1. To learn about the nature of exporting and the difficulties that may arise
  2. To know the Import/Export transactions, the difficulties with them and how to overcome these challenges
  3. To understand the globalisation process
  4. To know the positive and adverse effects of the globalisation
  5. To explore the cultural, political, and environmental dimensions of the globalisation
  6. To identify the trends towards the regionalism
  7. To learn about the trade liberalisation and the formation of the World Trade Organisation
  8. To understand the various regional trade agreements and their relevance to both regional and world trade
  9. To explore the historical development of the global trade over the last decades
  10. To know the role of the international institutions (WTO, IMF, WB) in the globalisation process
