With an estimated net State Domestic Product (FY 2007) of 118,200 crore (US$26.36 billion) in nominal terms and 336,400 crore (US$75.02 billion) in PPP terms, Delhi is the largest commercial center in northern India.

Key service industries include information technology, telecommunications, hotels, banking, media and tourism. Delhi being the capital of India has seen an unprecedented rise in the call centre industry. Delhi has India's largest and one of the fastest growing retail industries

Delhi's manufacturing industry has also grown considerably as many consumer goods industries have established manufacturing units and headquarters in and around Delhi. Delhi's large consumer market, coupled with the easy availability of skilled labour, has attracted foreign direct investment in Delhi.

Nodia is a major hub for multinational firms outsourcing IT services. Noida has attracted industrial giants and infotech companies to establish a permanent base in its environs. Many other companies have their Indian branch offices in Noida, because of the Special Economic Zone, the suburban atmosphere in Noida and its proximity to Delhi. Noida has quickly emerged as a hub for automobile ancillary units. Film city, established by Sandeep Marwah, is a hub for major news channels and studios.


Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL, formerly Maruti Udyog Limited), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan, is India's largest passenger car company, accounting for majority of the domestic car market. In fiscal 2009-10 Maruti Suzuki became the only Indian company to manufacture and sell One Million cars in a year.
