Djibril Tamsir Niane (Guinean historian).

The Guinean historian Djibril Tamsir Niane (Conakry, 9 January 1933) specializes in the History of Africa and the Oral Tradition transmission in West Africa. He was the author of the “Epic of Sundiata.”

Djibril Tamsir Niane was the editor of the Volume IV (Africa from 12th to 16th Century) and author in Volume VIII (Africa since 1935. The Independence of the African Countries) of the UNESCO General History of Africa.
