and the Republic of India amounted
to 1.519 million USD (+ 1% over the previous year). In the last 10 years the
annual trade balance was
negative
for the Andean Community.
In 2009, the Andean Community exports to India amounted to 568 million
USD.
The main Andean Community exporter to the Republic of India in 2009 was the
Republic of Colombia. Exports of Colombia to India reached 449 million USD (79% of Andean Community exports to
India).
In 2009, the Andean Community imports from the Republic of India reached 951 million USD.
The Republic of Colombia is the Andean Community nation with the biggest level of imports from India
(504 million USD in 2009).
The top exports products from India to Venezuela are: pharmaceuticals, engineering products, petroleum coke, textiles, equipment,
chemicals, machinery ....
In June 2003, the Andean Community and India established a Political dialog and Cooperation Mechanism for the
goal of
strengthening and diversifying their friendship, understanding and Cooperation and developing mutual
Bilateral Trade and Foreign direct investment (FDI) relations.
A
draft Free Trade Agreement has been forwarded to the Andean Community
Secretary General but is not entered into force.
