Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Tunisia and Turkey

The Tunisia-Turkey Free Trade Agreement (FTA) entered into force in 2005.

  1. Liberalization is imminent for the Republic of Turkey; the Republic of Tunisia have a transition period of nine years
  2. Foreign trade liberalization is significant for the industrial products
  3. Much of the agricultural export products continue to be partially protected
  4. The Republic of Turkey has liberalized 84% of the tariff lines
  5. 3,194 tariff lines for which the tariffs are not eliminated mainly affect the agricultural products
  6. At the end of the conclusion of the Tunisia-Turkey Free Trade Agreement, the Tunisian Republic will liberalize 76% of the tariff lines (96% of the imports from the Republic of Turkey)
  7. A series of bilateral safeguards are provided in the case of disturbances in the agricultural markets
