The Nicaragua-Taiwan Free Trade Agreement entry into force in 2008.

The main objective of the Nicaragua-Taiwan Free Trade Agreement is to set up a free-trade area.

The aims of the Nicaragua-Taiwan Free Trade Agreement are to:

  1. Promote the growth and diversification of the international trade between Nicaragua and Taiwan
  2. Eliminate foreign trade barriers, and facilitate the cross-border movement of export products and services between Nicaragua and Taiwan
  3. Promote the fair competition conditions in the free-trade area
  4. Substantially increase the foreign direct investment (FDI) opportunities in Nicaragua and Taiwan
  5. Provide an adequate protection of the intellectual property rights (IPR)
  6. Create efficient procedures for the implementation and application of the Nicaragua-Taiwan Free Trade Agreement
