The Taiwan Honduras El Salvador Free Trade Agreement (FTA) may produce the following opportunities:
1. There is great potential for the export of Taiwan’s agro-processed goods and industrial products to El Salvador and Honduras. With the FTA, Taiwan’s products will attain a new level of competitive advantage in these two countries and open business opportunities.
2. Taiwanese industries are complementary to those of El Salvador and Honduras.
3. The FTA can serve as Taiwan's springboard to North and South America, helping their industries to divide their work on a global scale.
4. The FTA prevents Taiwanese trade and investments from being excessively concentrated.

As soon as this FTA takes effect, 3,590 items from ROC (Taiwan) (57.1% of HS goods) will enjoy tariff-free entry into El Salvador’s market, while 5,688 items (64.4%) from El Salvador will enjoy the same treatment in ROC (Taiwan). After in 10 years, these figures will jump to 65.4% and 93.1% respectively.

This new FTA will serve as a gateway for El Salvadoran and Honduran goods to enter the greater Asian market, and for Taiwanese goods to enter markets in Latin America.
