Course summary India European Free Trade Association Bilateral Agreement

Status of the Agreement on foreign trade and Foreign direct investment (FDI) between India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA): under consultation and study.

Recognizing the need for improving Foreign trade between India and European Free Trade Association (Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein), a Joint Study Group was formed and mandated to take a exhaustive view of bilateral economic ties between India and European Free trade Association (EFTA).

The Free trade agreement will cover:

In 2005-06, bilateral trade India - EFTA States was 7475 million USD, exports of India: 623 million USD and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) exports: 6853 million USD.

Switzerland is biggest trade partner of India among the EFTA States.
