CARIFORUM-European Union Economic Partnership Agreement

Description of the Sub-Subject: CARIFORUM-European Union (EU) Economic Partnership Agreement.

  1. In 2007, the EU signed an Economic Partnership Agreement with the CARIFORUM (Caribbean Forum): Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago
  2. The CARIFORUM Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union is founded on the creation of an integrated regional market in the Caribbean
  3. The CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement facilitates the gradual harmonisation of the rights of the countries oc the CARIFORUM based on the liberalisation of exports, foreign direct investment (FDI) and foreign trade
  4. The CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement immediately eliminates all tariffs and quotas on exports to the European Union (EU)
