The Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP):

  1. 230 millions of people
  2. 7.2 of the world's area
  3. Four continents: Europe, America, Africa and Asia
  4. The gross domestic product of all the CPLP countries, together, exceeds 1,950 trillion dollars

The Member States of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) are Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe, East Timor.

The associated observer countries of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) are Equatorial Guinea, Mauritius and Senegal.

Spoken by 230 million people, Portuguese is the language of Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, Guinea-Bissau and East Timor. There is a movement to make Portuguese one of the official languages of the United Nations.

Portuguese is spoken by 190 million people in South America, 16 million of Africans, 12 million of Europeans, 2 million in North America and 330,000 in Asia.
